Boom Boom! exploded on the wine industry in 2007, and this spicy Syrah has been one of Washington State’s signature wines ever since. It’s a tribute to Charles’ first love lost—a woman nicknamed “Boom Boom” O’Brien—and it’s one of the biggest and boldest Syrahs of all time. It’s not surprising that wine drinkers everywhere have fallen in love with it’. – excerpt from Charles Smith Wines website.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Dark and inky

Nose: White Pepper, Blackberry, Smoked Meat, Florals

On the palate: Zesty, dark fruit with hints of pepper and smoked meat

Varietal Composition: 96% Syrah, 3% Voignier, 1% Grenache

By: Charles Smith Winery

Style: Extra Dry

Vintage: 2014

Origin: Colombia Valley, USA

Value Rating:   5 / 5

Where to buy it: LCBO

Price: $39.95

Score: Unrated, but has one multiple accolades

Drink: Now through 2022

Should you try? I’ll admit to being a little biased but YES, YES, YES! This is my all-time favourite wine. It’s smooth and easy to drink, and pairs well with almost everything that I eat. At $40 a bottle, I reserve it for special occasions.
